Turnfight is a multiplayer air combat game you play right in your web browser. Take off over the ocean and dogfight other pilots. Shoot down rivals to earn points, and points unlock faster, better-armed aircraft, from World War II fighters to modern jets. There is nothing to install and no account to create: press Play and you are in the air.
How to play Turnfight
- Fly with the mouse. Your aircraft turns toward where you look. W and S pitch, A and D yaw, Q and E roll, and Tab and Shift set the throttle. On a phone or tablet, use the on-screen joystick and buttons.
- Fire with the left mouse button or the Space bar. Press X to switch between guns, rockets and missiles, and R to reload.
- Shoot down enemy aircraft to take a share of their score. If you are shot down, you lose part of yours.
- Upgrade with a number key once your score unlocks a better aircraft.
- Capture U-boats and barrage balloons by keeping more aircraft near one than the other side. Your team earns points for as long as you hold it.
- Climb the ranks from Mechanic to Ace, unlocking biplanes, bombers, and boosts to speed, repair and damage.
What are the game modes?
Pick one of four on the start screen. WW2 runs from propeller fighters to the first jets, the Me 262 and Vampire. Jet Age runs from the F-86 Sabre to the Eurofighter Typhoon. Both split players into two balanced teams, red and blue. In Bomber Waves, all players team up against formations of AI bombers, and each kill pays a fixed bounty. Classic offers every aircraft, with player-made teams that share one score.
Tips
- Aim ahead. The lead indicator shows where to point your guns and rockets at a moving target.
- Get behind your target. Heat-seeking missiles home on jet exhaust, so they work best from behind. Radar missiles fire from any angle, but warn the pilot you lock on to.
- Answer “Missile inbound.” Press F to release flares and chaff, which can decoy a missile. You regain a burst of each every 15 seconds.
- Keep your speed up. “Stall” means too little airspeed to maneuver, and “Pull up” means you are about to hit the water.
Play with friends
Press Play with friends to get an invite code. Share it, and your friends join you on the public server or on a party server of your own.
